well some of the grades were posted today and i just realized that i missed the A slot by 1.1%
so i got a B.
i don't know my other grades, but i had a couple of questions.

is there any way i can get my GPA to be a 4.0 again [like honors or something?] or has this B forever tarnished my GPA image?
it does seem im both disappointed and paranoid at the same time, but i just want to know how i can better prepare myself and boost my GPA again.

Nope, max grade point assignment for any class is a 4.0. Some schools do 4.3 for an A+, but UCSD isn’t one of them. This isn’t high school. Any GPA above a 3.7 is fairly impressive.

Are all grades out yet? I still have a couple blanks on my Academic History, does that mean I failed the courses?

Also, should I trust the degree audit over the Academic History. On the degree audit, it currently lists a class (for which I’m still waiting for the grade to appear on Academic History) as W>X under “Repeat; Duplicate; D grade reporting” does that mean I got a D?

I think you made a previous thread about people exaggerating about finals, but now I think you understand why some of us REALLY go all out so that we can have no regrets of not studying enough to get that extra 1.1%.

OoPurestOo
lol. smart answer
it’s not like i didn’t study though, i just didn’t go psycho and go overnight, but lesson learned heh.
i would’ve gotten that A, but he included the ALEKS thing which hurt my grade. I’m still against him adding that as 15 points, it should’ve been E.C. or something, but I always need a “B” kick to get the rest of my A’s in line, so I’m kinda glad I got this B [in a weird weird way], i guess it’s some kind of tradition. [it happened in junior high, high school, and now college… lolz]

ok got all my grades. [all B’s but i figured out where I went wrong, so hopefully I’ll be starting my A streak ]
I have one urgent question.
For my public speaking class I got a b-. the thing is when I was taking an online test on ted, the browser froze and I couldn’t take the test again. It said I already took it, but when i clicked on view my responses it said the test has not been submitted. , so I got 0/5 on the test, and the tests are worth 15% [there were 3 tests each worth 5].

I emailed the TA in Nov. who emailed her Head TA to let me renew the test, but I got no reply from the Head. i emailed the head TA before finals, still no reply.

I’m utterly lost because it seems like the test is murdering my grade and I got pretty much A’s in everything in that class, and I never got a response from the Head TA. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Can I even re-take the test? Or do I have to live with a B-?

I’m not sure how that class works, but just email email email away until something gets arranged, if not, life goes on.

Basically, as a freshman you probably learned that at UCSD, it’s pretty easy to pull the B. To get an A it is THAT much more work unless a professor hands em out like candy to kids (Magagna). You don’t have to pull allnighters, but you should definitely study for finals in way where you really attempt to know absolutely every concept and know how to solve every problem thrown at you.
