i previously thought/heard that SD has the best bio (or science, in general) of the UCs. is there any evidence of this in US News or something? i’ve been looking, but i can’t find any proof. thanks!

SUNY seems to like UCSD's biological sciences program.

this is a usnews graduate ranking of biological sciences. http://ansipen.com/rank/biologicalsciences.html

they have ucsd below ucb and above ucla.

this is another ranking site for graduate programs.

maybe for bio-engineering. they're in the top 2 or 3 for sure. as for general bio, they should be strong. i could believe that ucsd has the best bio program amongst the UCs

I suppose that is the beauty of the UC system. Every UC has a specialty

Berkeley: Practically Everything
UCI: Safety of Campus
UCLA: Neuroscience/Medicine
UCR and UCD: Agriculture
UCSB: Physics/Materials Science
UCSC: Astronomy
UCSD: Bioengineering/Comp Sci

wow, Dru2k5! thanks for digging up those rankings. ucsd is nationally recognized as being strong in biological sciences.

awesome. that's exactly the kind of info i was looking for. thanks!
