UCSD High School Transcript... as a transfer student?

On the UCSD applicant page it says that as a transfer student I have to turn in all transcripts, including college transcripts AND high school transcripts. This seemed odd to me and I asked my friend who was just admitted to UCLA and he said that he did not need to turn in his high school transcript, and I asked my sister who just got in to UCSB and on their website it says that if you turn in your IGETC certification, a high school transcript does not need to be sent in. I have already sent in my IGETC certification as well as my final transcripts from my CCC. If any of you know about this situation, any help would be appreciated. (also I have e-mailed UCSD regarding this question and have not gotten a response yet for almost two days now)

Yea you need to send them your High School transcripts also. Its probably to check if you did 3 years of language in highschool (or 2).

Some people need to send the HS transcripts and some people don’t. It depends on the school and if you used some stuff from high school to satisfy requirements (like history or language). On your conditions of admission thing it should tell you if you need to send your high school transcripts (i think).

I had to send my High School transcripts to Berkeley. You better get on that. I’m not sure what the deadline is for UCSD, but it’s july 15th for berkeley, and sometimes schools can take a while for with things like transcripts.

yeah, that’s what I thought, but when I was getting my IGETC certification done, my counselor looked at my High School transcript to check that I had done my foreign language and had marked it as completed. I don’t feel like taking chances though, so I’ll go ahead and send them in.

They’re specifically checking for an American History requirement, they told me. I was hesitant to send mine in because I dropped out with like a… who knows, 1.5 GPA? and they told me not to worry about that, just to make sure I had them in, and that it’s nothing I’d get my admission rescinded over.

Oh and I did TAG and IGETC both.

Yeah they just want to check the american history requirement. I had to send my high school transcript to UCSD but didn’t even put my HS GPA or anything like that on my application. I didn’t even take the SAT or ACT in high school either lol

Neither did I. The only major test I took was the CHSPE. Ha.

They probably use something you did in HS as the basis for your acceptance and they want to make sure you did do it. Send everything they ask you to-

your acceptance as a transfer is NOT based on high school experience. theyre just checking for a us history class, and if you ddidnt take it, you have to take the class at ucsd

@andyhb85: Please don’t mistake my info- But everything you put into your application comes into play. If there’s a kid who was a rockstar in HS but then got married and had kids and became and B average kid- he will probably get in no doubt. Obviously this only applies to borderline people. If you have all your pre-req’s and you are a well-rounded individual, then you’re most likely to get accepted.

^^ but they didn’t ask for our HS transcripts until after we were accepted.
