^ you better believe that is coming with me! haha.

To anyone who hasn’t seen the Village dorms, they’re pretty nice. They’re just so expensive! My friends live in the UTC area, shuttle to school, and pay somewhere close to $500 a month for their own room, which isn’t too shabby. That’s the kind of deal I’ll be watching for.

im not worried about it because i got full fin aid for my housing^ otherwise i would think a little heavier on the off campus side

True that AJ. I’m up here in OC and we got quite a bit of consistent rain this last winter. Was that not the case in SD? I assumed they generally get the same weather as us given the relatively similar geological features but maybe not?

@AJ- what do you consider full financial aid, if you don’t mind me asking? I got close to 18,500 in grants and such, and they offered the remaining 9,000 to me in loans.

oh well im not in sd… im in sacramento. but my friend goes to UCSD and she told me it rained maybe 2 weeks total (not straight) and even when it did rain it was like an hour and then it stopped. it seriously is the best weather, ever.

i got 22,205.

Dude how do we find out about the amount of financial aid we’ll be receiving for FAFSA, Cal Grant and such?

view your priliminary financial aid award notice. its on the website. oh and if you get that 18k, did you report that you were going to live on campus? because i think if you end up not living on campus they lower that aid. not 100% on that but pretty sure

Hot damn. Ha ha. My EFC was 60! -_- in the past it has always been zero.

@WisdomRacing: Yeah it’s generally the same but there are always exceptions. I’ve had drives from SD to LAX where it was pouring in SD but blue skies on the 405. There’s almost 100 miles separating OC from SD, so there is bound to be some variability.

SD got hit pretty hard by the winter storms this year. In some places they even exceeded their average yearly rainfall. Generally the weather really is beautiful though, but just like any coastal environment you have micro-climates galore. Those of you used to the Bay Area know what I am talking about. Due to the fact that it’s essentially at the top of a set of bluffs next to the ocean, UCSD in particular can get really hemmed in by the marine layer over the school year (and top out at ~68deg.F) while at the same time SDSU (only a few miles to the east) will be sunny and 75+deg.F.

It’s getting to be the end of the official rainy season, and the ocean is starting to warm up a little. Time to get yer surf on.

Yo, I’m scouting off-campus roomates as well. So, let me know what’s up, guys. As of now, I’m not gonna be able to make it to Transfer Admit Day, because I’m going to University of Oregon to visit my cousin for his 21st birthday.

Hey ya’ll
Dont be fooled by the outside and how great it looks like on the website. The hall outside has concrete floors and its just a terrible place to live - very uncomfortable. Its even ridiculously far from campus! It took me 20 minutes to walk from the transfer dorms to the lecture area. There are buses that take you right from offcampus apartments to class. You might as well spend half as much and get a place in costa verde towers. That place is like a 5 star hotel!! Yeah you can drink in the transfer dorms but then again you can drink in the apartments.

You’re allowed to drink in the transfer dorms? That berry got a little sweeter.

Yeah since many of the transfers are 21+, they are very lenient. However you cant throw parties as big as the ones you can in the apartments because of the noise and the paper thin walls.

@ jamesinho. Why did you write a longass paragraph about the weather haha

@guitarfrk123: Dude, it’s only like 5 sentences. :)

I wrote it because there are people reading this who don’t know what SD’s weather is really like. I live here so I was trying to help.

i just want to go see for myself for as long as ill bethere. mainly i just want to be out of here./drunk
