I am a visual arts student and accepted into the UCSD ICAM program . I liked the interdisciplinary nature of arts blended with tech and Computer science and am really excited about the program. But, I am getting a bit worried with my research of the profile of jobs, students and others who have done ICAM and it appears to be heavily leaning into tech and there is very little of the creative visual art stuff… I have acceptance for ART+Design from other universities like UMICH, NYU and waiting for others in a few more days. I am keen to develop a creative career and gain some internship experience at the studios or social media firms and California appears to be the right setting…any advise whether ICAM education and program is helpful in this direction will be much much appreciated…
Hi rockyhoudini, I was wondering if you decided to attend UCSD. If so, how are you liking classes in the visual arts Dept.?
bump! same question as above. I applied as Visual Arts - Media major but still want to know how it’s like for an ICAM major since they’re under the same department!! Thanks in advance!
