What are the most important aspects of the application that the UCs consider? I've been looking around and it seems that GPA is very important to the UCs. What else do they look closely at?

[UC San Diego Comprehensive Review Admission Process: Freshman Selection, Fall 2010](http://www.ucsd.edu/prospective-students/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/freshmen/process.html)

UCSD uses a point based system to determine admissions. The cutoff for instate nonimpacted majors is around 7700ish I think (higher for oos/impacted majors). Basically GPA and SAT scores are THE most important for all UCs. Of course good ECs and essays help but your stats are a huge chunk.
