Well I got in thankfully haha, but I'm still kind of concerned. I got admitted into Warren under Physics, my desired major though is Aerospace Engineering, but this of course is impacted. Is there a shot for me to transfer in right away within freshman year or by doing the whole taking the required classes and maintaining a decent GPA? Or is this a long shot haha?

Thanks to whomever may help.

I’m pretty sure you need to get a high GPA and do the pre-reqs and wait a year.

Right, I’m aware of that whole deal, has anyone here actually gone through this or know someone that has? Not just MAE, could be Bio as well since I’ve heard a lot about it, but nothing like afterwards.

I am an Aerospace engineer myself so I’ll try my best to clear your doubt…apologies if I don’t. BIOLOGY is hard as heck to transfer into. You have to do atleast 3 quarters here at UCSD and finish all the lower div reqs for transfer application like physics series, lab for physics, all three bio classes, all three chem classes, and chem lab and finally 3 quarters of math. Then you also need atleast more than 3.5 gpa when you apply for any major under the division of biological sciences.
Engineering…same deal, you gotta stay here for a while. I believe 3 quarters as well then when the applications roll out. BAM! apply and hold tight fingers crossed The first year for aerospace reqs is a piece of cake in my opinion except MAE 2 which is just a lot of equations but its easy and fun (you make your own airplane and compete with your classmates, its your FINAL PROJECT). THAT is the only class you will take that is for your major till junior year. Everything else is pre-requisites. I don’t have any friend who applied to Aerospace but I know people switched from Aerospace to Mechanical and both are impacted so go figure. Hope this helps mate. Ciao
