Hi, I’ve been accepted to UCSD for management science and have been waitlisted by UCLA for either business econ/econ (not much different in terms of coursework). I was originally going for a business degree, but UCSD’s management science (think applied managerial econ) sounds quite interesting and actually applicable. UCLA, on the other hand, would be more of a pure econ and perhaps more of a social science from my understanding. However, if I were to go on to get an MBA (which is very possible) then it wouldn’t matter too much if I did a more business or econ orientated major. This makes me think that perhaps UCLA would be the better choice should they have space for me and accept me in the summer. If anyone is familiar with either school or their programs, please weigh in and give me your opinions. These are the two I’m really looking at at the moment, but I’ll list some other admissions I’ve gotten below should you wish to speak on behalf of any of them. Thanks so much!
