Hey guys, I am an incoming freshman (john muir) declared as biochem/chem major. I was wondering how rigorous math 4c is. I am great at math but I'm worried about the workload. I know it sounds like an excuse but I've heard few people could get an A in the class. Here is my schedule for the fall:

muir writing (not many spots left i've seen) or chem 6a
japn 10a
ethn 1a
math 4c or math 10
maybe even a freshman seminar?

It will be awesome if you guys could answer this question. =)

did you take precal in hs (and pass)? that alone should determine whether you’re ready for the 10 series. you can always attend the lecture of both and see which is more suitable. (in a class of 300, the profs won’t have a clue who’s registered and who isn’t)

I seem to remember that completion of or co-enrollment in 10A/20A was required for Chen 6a. is that no longer the case?

@astrina:
Yes, I took honors pre-cal at senior year and got B’s on both semesters and also yes to chem 6a, it said specifically in this year’s general catalog that there are no pre-requisites but for chem 6b, i need to take math 10a or 20a at least. I just want to know from your experience that you or your friends that have took math 4a. =)
