UCSD Math/Computer Science or Cal Poly Computer Science

Hey so I have been accepted to UCSD Math/Computer Science and Cal Poly Computer Science and I am trying to decide which one I want to go to. Anyone have any thoughts on pros or cons of each one? I am also waiting on UCSB Comp Sci, so I guess way in on that as well. Right now I think I am leaning towards Cal Poly because I think it might be a better education and have better job opportunities after graduation, but I like the location of UCSD better and I feel that it is a little bit more prestigious.

I’m not CS or Math-CS so I won’t get into the specifics of the program, but I don’t know where you’d get the idea that Cal Poly would give you either of those things better than UCSD would. SD feeds into Silicon Valley and most people agree the education is great

If you get into UCSD CS directly would you still think CP offers better education and job prospect? Also are you good at math or at least enjoy it?

@Just4Years yes probably about job prospect, I’m not sure about education. Also yes I am good at math and do enjoy it

Wonder why do you think industry would hire CP CS more than UCSD CS (I doubt that’s the case). If you believe in that and it seems to be your top concern then CP it is esp. now you don’t even have CS direct at UCSD (and it’s damn hard to transfer). CP does seem to be more job/vocation oriented while UCSD is a research power house. Visit them to get a feel. They are not very similar schools/campuses.
