UCSD off campus housing

Anyone know if the transfer housing is a one year contract type of thing? Or can you leave after a quarter or something?

Hello and thank you for your interest in The Village at Torrey Pines.

Currently the rental agreements run with the academic year. There are no monthly or quarterly rental agreements. The kitchen is definitely a nice convenience, but an opt-out of a meal plan is currently not an option. Lastly, as room assignments will be by gender and by college, floors are open to all genders.

Hopefully this information was helpful.

Again, thank you for your interest in The Village at Torrey Pines.

Regards,

The Village at Torrey Pines team!

i like this.

Yeah, the only major downside to dorms is I can’t bring me drumset =(

Anyone know if the music rooms at UCSD have sets in them?
One of my CC’s does, but the other one doesn’t… I have no idea how the UC’s are about that sorta thing…

Dude loller, that’s way too expensive.

kkiji… it’s not expensive if you live with 2 roomates (heck you could even have 3), that’s like $650/month

and i dont know how close yours would be to UCSD, since its in san diego and not la jolla.

Walking distance man.

Yours might not be expensive expensive, but there’s cheaper out there. :D

pfffffffffft:

Estimated Time: 5 minutes Estimated Distance: 2.46 miles

maybe if you like to walk for hours !

Well I’m counting distance to the very EDGE of the campus  , which appears to be less than a mile. Plus we don’t know how close yours is, it didn’t leave an address. >_>

I’m almost positive that UCSD students can get free passes to the local bus system in San Deigo and the school also has a free “city shuttle”. Check out the stops on ucsd’s transportation page, it could open up a lot more possibilities. The reality is that La Jolla itself it usually just too expensive for most students. Rent gets MUCH cheaper as you move farther from the school.

my mom thinks i should get the transfer housing because of the meal plans. she thinks i cant cook for myself!

too bad i make a mean cup of noodles, amazing cereal bowls, and probably the best toast i ever tasted!

Dude…my parents are telling me the exact same thing!! I think the best I can do is a crappy omelette and fried rice.

EDIT: I left out the part where my omelettes are all overcooked.

too bad she doesn’t know i’ve been watching emeril live and iron chef for 6 months now!

i’m practically a 5 star chef without ever cooking anything ;)

I make amazing chocolate chip pancakes. =D
And Spaghetti!

Dude if we’re going to do this thing, we need a token roommate who is like a master chef that loves to cook all the ****in time. It’ll be sweet.

EDIT: That’s it, Emeril is our new roommate. It’s done.

Psh, those are the only two things I can cook. lol

I just happen to have the ability to cook them very well.

My gf’s a culinary major though…too bad she didn’t get in =/

someone buy me a foreman grille, and i’ll make orgasms happen in your mouth!

BAM! take it up a notch! bam bam!

The key thing is to avoid becoming those college kids who eat out all the time and blow through their money. Got to play this thing smart.

The problem is though, grocery @ la jolla is hella expensive.

dood, i’m sure there’s a costco there. we’ll just go there once a year and stock up! >.<

The closest one is down by PB. Someone needs to have a car.
