UCSD Official Transcript Coursework Title

Has anyone sent an official transcript to themselves?
Are the coursework that appears on the official transcript the same as the coursework that appears on the unofficial transcript that you can get from mytritonlink?
I was told by a few pre-meds who got into medical school that the coursework that appears on the official transcript has a different title than what is on our degree audit/unofficial transcript. So they recommend us to spend an additional 15$ to send the transcript to ourselves. That way, when we enter the coursework on the application, there's no confusion between what we entered and the transcript that ACMAS gets.

However, I was assured by the registrar office that the coursework that appears on the unofficial transcript is the same as the one official transcript ( maybe I should have clarified about code and title and everything).

So anyone have any experience with this?

I sent a transcript to myself when I was applying to grad school, but I don’t remember exactly what the coursework looked like. I believe they had the same titles as on the unofficial transcript–I don’t see why they would be different because it would be MORE work on the registrar’s office to change the title and make up something new. I don’t remember noticing any discrepancies, at the very least, but I’d have to dig up my transcript to be sure. I didn’t have any issues when I was applying to grad school, though.

Okay thanks a ton. I was expecting to use the unofficial transcript as well until I was told by two other students that it was inaccurate (it was a student panel for applying to professional school). Very strange.

edit: okay on my academic history
i have “Physics-Flu,Wav,Thrmdyn,Optics”
but I am guessing the full course title should be
“Physics–Fluids, Waves, Thermodynamics, and Optics”?

Okay, so I pulled up my official transcript and course titles are listed exactly the way they were in my academic history.

Both the academic history and the official transcript abbreviate course titles because of space. They’re all easy to figure out, but if you want to confirm the full title of a class, than you can look at the course catalog.

Okay fantastic. I really appreciate that you took the effort to double check your transcript for me. Thanks!
