UCSD On-Campus Apartments

What are the on-campus apartments like at UCSD? I got to tour the Village (transfer housing) but I didn’t like it so I’m trying to find out more about the other apartments.

What didn’t you like about the apartments? If you’re more specific, I may be able to comment more on it.

I lived in apartments in Muir, Marshall, Warren, and Sixth, and there are differences but they are all more similar than they are different. There’s not going to be drastically different changes between them. Every apartment’s going to have a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and then the bedrooms–there’s really not that much more to it. I’ve been in one apartment in Village, and it was on the small side but otherwise seemed perfectly fine. You can look online for the layout of the apartments, and there may be pictures available as well. I know Muir has pictures on their apartments and res halls on their website, but you can check the other colleges to see if they have anything helpful.

Keep in mind though that you don’t necessarily get to choose which college you live in. Students in each college live primarily in their own college but there is some overflow housing in other colleges or in village if you get in to it.

The village apts were really cramped and dull. It looked a lot smaller and worn down than their pictures online. And one of the RAs said it’s rare to get into a double as a new transfer student and even more rare to get a single. I really don’t want to live in a triple. I think I’d go insane. Muir is my first choice and I saw that they don’t have any triples. Then Marshall and ERC. I’m having trouble finding pictures and reviews for all of them.
