i have been living in southern california for the past ten years (about two hours north of UCSD), and i cant decide if it is worth it to leave to attend CMU. i got into CIT and plan on majoring in chemical engineering and minor in a language. [i would to biomedical engineering but then i would have to double major and i still want to do a minor so that would be a lot on my plate] if i go to UCSD, i may do either the whole chemical engineering/nanotechnology deal or the bioengineering: biotechnology since i am interested in BME

here's where i get confused: i also prioritize my social life. i love sailing, playing soccer, and snowboarding and want make sure i will have fun at which college i end up going to
i've come to the conclusion that if i go to UCSD, that is like an easy way out, like a scapegoat, and if i got CMU i will be challenging myself and maybe would be a good step, and not as fun. Would it be a better idea to just go to UCSD and go somewhere good like CMU for grad school?

any input would be great..especially from any current students
