UCSD or UC Davis?

Which school would be better as a premed option? I have been accepted under the engineering department for UCSD so I'm thinking maybe chemical engineering as a possibility? Would that be better or a science major like biotech at UC Davis?

You can get into medical school with either major and from either school. One key thing you need will be very strong grades. So pick whichever major you have most natural aptitude for and thus will enjoy the best chance of success

I wouldn’t try to make a decision like that. Go where you want to go, both provide good opportunities.

yeah. i think i would do well at ucsd and would enjoy the chem E major. the only problem is i got accepted for structural engineering and have to change my major the first day of skool. hopefully it will be easy to transfer from the structural department to the mechanical and aerospace department for chem E

Haha my best friend is goin to UCD and her brother is at UCSD!

Sorry I realize that was not at all helpful.

Go to the environment you like better. You’ll likely do better, and get higher grades for that all important medical school admission.

UC Davis and UCSD are completely different environments. Visit both and then decide.

UC Davis: inland Norcal, small college town, bikes, only UC (besides UCB & UCLA) with a football team, strong integrative biology/veterinary science programs.

UCSD: La Jolla - Socal, beach, residential colleges, strong molecular cell biology and biomedical engineering programs.
