I hear conflicting views.

I am an economics major with a possible art history minor. I do plan on doing graduate work.

I want to know from a purely academic viewpoint which one is the best for my major or which you would go to.

Anyone? I need some advice.

UCSD's econ is ranked 10 in the nation... above UCLA and right below Berkeley's. Two professors just won Nobel prizes.

Disagree. I think UCSD and UCD will be about equal. UCSD overly emphasizes sciences. Davis is 15 minutes from Sacramento, which I think is advantageous for majors like economics.

Also, those rankings are not intended for undergrad use.

Finally, UCSD is overrated.

what are you talking about? UCSD is a great school, better than Davis.

I have a hard time putting one school above the other for undergrad work. They are both well respected schools and i personally dont think you can go wrong with either. It just depends on what kind of environment you would like to spend your next two years in. You gotta enjoy your undergrad experience too right?
