Hi,
I recently got accepted by UCSD and UCI and now I don't know where to go.
The obvious answer would be to go to UCSD because it's the better school but some factors have made it hard for me to decide.
My ultimate goal is to get into med school and become a doctor but the major i got into at UCSD is physics-biophysics while my major at UCI is biomedical engineering-premed.
Is there any way i can change my major at UCSD to premed? and if not, how much would biophysics prepare me for the MCAT?
Thanks guys!
Brian

The same problem. Which school to choose?

UCSD-bioengeeniering:biotech
UCI-biomedical bioengineering-premed
UCD-biomedical engineering

I would like to go to medical school too.

@briany: I got into UCSD too (which college are you in?), and I’m sure they’ll let you change your major, because I feel like they should understand that you haven’t completely decided what you want to do for the rest of your life yet.

@seniorsf: I heard Davis has a decent science program, but I think SD is known more for its sciences, so if money isn’t an issue, I’d go to SD. Which college are you in, btw?

i got into sixth college.

Premed is not a major(am i incorrect?) It’s a group of classes you take in addition to your major. Technically speaking you could major in anything you want(even in the humanities) and still get into med school-as long as you take the premed requirements as well.
Does the sixth college pose an issue n being able to get the premed requirements out of the way?

Go to the school where you think you will be happiest. They are comparable in terms of premed type courses.

I got to Marshall

Either one will prepare you for med school. The real problem is to choose the program and/or school that you will enjoy more. Because then you’ll be more motivated to study, get good grades, and do research without hating your life.
