UCSD or USC?

I know that USC is ranked higher, but UCSD is pretty good for premed; USC is so expensive, but UCSD can be so boring. I just don’t know…

Haha I'm in the exact same boat. If money weren't an issue, I think I would choose USC for what I'm interested in (business/communications). But I do love San Diego...

Hmm that's a good debate... anyone?

yeah for business go to USC for anything other than business go to UCSD.

If money is not a factor i would go to USC for the sports team, school spirit, and the fun environment. But i do love SD too.

same situation here:

UCSD Sixth College / the Jacob School of Engineeering : Computer Engineering

USC Marshall: Business

i dont know what to choose...
i guess i would have to see need-based scholarship
and figure out which major i really want to study..engineering or business (although i want to go to business school for grad)

o. Well I do know that USC is good for business.

USC is good for a lot of things... Communications, business, and music, just to name a few. And after graduation, being an alumni from USC has a lot of advantages. If you have the money, or are willing to loan it out, I'd say USC.

go to USC, you will have a FAR BETTER time than at ucsd

pimpmike: do you go to ucsd?

USC is in a rather "bad" area though.

yes i do go there.....

In the lon run you guys have to realize that ucsd means *, your gpa means *. most places don't ever ask you for gpa for jobs.

For grad school it matters but what matters more is research experience (science), for B-school its gmat and work experience, for law school its lsat......there is so much grade inflation that standardized test and other factors are more heavilly weighted

MOST UCSD kids have no ****ing social skills that it doesn't how smart they are, the will tank an interview

usc is a better school academically and in rank for many majors......
and usc campus is so pretty and clean...

pre-med?
UCSD, without doubt.

usc has a really good pre-med program, with hands on patients at there very own school hospital

yeah, but 42 grand a year really doesn't make sense for undergrad. I'd only go if you get a whole pile of financial aid.

p.s. or if you're really loaded.

usc offers alot of scholarships, more than that of a public school

yes, but i'd like to see USC give a 36,000 dollar scholarship.

usc gave a girl in my class a 100k scholarship.

she's turning it down for cornell (only 10k/yr)
