im very interested in majoring econ or business...and i think im in the range of ucsd(ucla and ucb is a bit tough for me i guess)...
however, i dont think ucsd has any good econ program...so im looking for some good schools..btw im a Californian Asian....

school im looking for: bc(EA), brandies, lehigh, nyu, and vanderbilt...

wut r u talking about, ucsd has a powerful econ dept. couple years ago it was one of the top 10 econ program in the nation.. now it’s #11 or something like that… top 20 for sure. I believe the dept. has a nobel laureate too.

UCSD has an excellent econ department. graduate rankings (us news) last time i checked for econ had it in the top ten. if thats not good i dont know what is. i believe the only uc to have a better ranked graduate econ ranking is berkeley. hence you are a undergrad, but there is no ranking for undergrad econ departments. dont think outside of stanford and berkeley you are gonna find a better econ department on the west coast than at ucsd.

ucsd is top 7 in us news overall for political science. better than any school on the west coast outside again of stanford and berkeley. certain specific areas of political science are ranked even higher such as comparative politics, ranked 2nd nationally. you are correct though that ucsd is very good at the sciences and is mainly garnered its reputation through bio/medical, engineering, and science research.
