UCSD - Problem

UCSD offered me admissions for Fall 2008
I already accepted the (SIR) But I'm worried, I don't know if my provisional admission will be cancelled. Because of my grades.

I saw some mistakes in my grades (The ones that i entered in the application)
Can i call UCSD and tell them that i had mistakes, Are they going to cancell my admission?

Mistakes:
9th Grade

Chemcom 1 - Self reported in Application: A Trascript shows: B
Chemcom 2 - Self reported in Application: A Trascript shows: B
World Geog 1 - Self reported in Application: B Trascript shows: A

Is my admission going to be cancelled?

My triton link says:
"All academic information you reported on the admission application will be verified against your official transcripts as indicated in your Contract for Provisional Admission. Any inconsistencies between this data and official documents (high school and college transcripts) will result in cancellation of your admission offer. Upon successful completion of validation by the Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools, this requirement will be met. "

you could not tell them and hope that they won’t find the mistake in the thousands of freshman transcripts they have to consider and you attend anyway

you could tell them the mistake
2a. they appreciate you being honest, decide that the mistakes were genuine and don’t change your admissions offer
2b. they tell you unsympathetically that any college student worth his or her salt should learn to double-check something as important as an application and we’re revoking your acceptance as a lesson to you.

2b seems a little harsh to me. the honest thing to do would be to call the admissions office because it looks much better for you to tell them the truth instead of them finding out the truth first and thinking you were trying to hide it. alternatively, if you just realized this, you could pretend that you never realized it and say “oh wow, i put that on my self-reported grades? whoops!”

Tell them immediately. I seriously doubt they would rescind based on something this minor, since two of those grades are actually higher than what you reported. But they’ll find out either way, and I would assume be more forgiving if you’re up front about an honest mistake.i

Call now, assuming that your self-reported GPA is 3.92, your corrected GPA will be no worse than 3.90. Unless you happen to be at the hairy edge of the admissions cutoff, this will not make any difference. If this is a reason for them to change their decision, you want to find out now, not in June when you submit your final transcript.

9th grade grades don’t calculate into your UC GPA anyways…
and seeing that your mistakes made weren’t all in your favor, call.

is there anyway for us to view our application again…the one we submitted on nov 30th…i’d like to print mine out

here: https://admissions.ucop.edu/pathwaysF2008/Pathways

thx dude..

oh wow i have a question…when i went to review my application i noticed two errors that i made…should i contact them because i was admitted into UCLA and some other schools

For ECs, i put
“Varsity Boys Volleyball 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 22 20 Played Varsity since sophomore year. Sophomore year placed 2nd in league. Junior Year we won League and placed 5th in CIF division 2 playoffs.”

Everything is true there except i didn’t play in the 12th grade…i decided to just take a break. The season starts in spring and at the time i submitted my application, i was going to play, but later on, I chose not to. Its nothing really major but what do u guys think?

The other one is

  • Honor Roll Academic Jun, 2007 Receive school honor roll all times in 04-05, 05-06, and 06-07 school years.*
Note i put 04-05, 05-06, and 06-07 when they only did it in 04 05.
We use to have honor roll at my school when i was a freshman, but i guess they stopped doing it soph and junior year. They are really small awards, just awarded to those who had a 3.5+ GPA, everyone was getting it so i guess when i became a sophomore, they stopped doing it.

To my previous message, I don’t really think they are really worth contacting them about but what do you think? will i risk rescinding?

don’t bother with those. they won’t be on your transcript anyway.

yea they don’t seem very important…

I have also a mistake on my UC application and i was wondering if UCSD would pull my admission.
On my UC application i put that i took intermediate chinese but i actually took chinese4 and because there was no grading system labeled pass or fail i put an A because my teacher said i did well on the finals and tests
