Hi everyone, I'm new to College Confidential. I have recently been admitted into UCSD.

I was wondering if any of you have been admitted as a Regent Scholar? Do you know how they go about selecting Regent Scholars at UCSD (aside from top GPA's)? Is it possible to not gain admission as a Regent Scholar even if you have a high enough GPA?

Does bumping work on this site? Worth a try. :)

Oh and also wanted to say, even if you are not admitted as a Regent Scholar or whatever. Any info you have to share would be great! Thank you so much!

You bumped a thread 17 minutes after you made it at 3:30 in the morning…

…

Whoa grimes. Getting passive aggressive are we?

There is no regents for transfers

^Yes, UCSD doesn’t have regents for transfers. Most (all?) other UCs do.

UCSD does offer the Engelhorn Family Scholarship for transfers, but it seems more subjective than regents. Still, $2,000/year would be a nice help.

@Grimes
I’m new to this.

It’s strange you all say that because if you scroll to the bottom of this page:
[Regents Scholarships](http://www.ucsd.edu/current-students/finances/financial-aid/types/scholarships/freshmen/regents-scholarships.html)

They have a Regents Scholar flyer for BOTH freshmen and transfers. So I’m assuming they would offer it for transfers too. No?

@goingmeta: Passive aggressive? Naa.

@smileycannee: Haha I wasn’t referring just to this board. If you know what a bump is, you’ve been on message boards before. I was just jabbing you for bumping something a few minutes after you made it when almost everyone is asleep, that’s all.

I also wanted to add another comment to my post. I am not familiar with this, I just saw it from a few other threads before signing up for this account.

But that’s aside from the point. If you could address my concern, that would be more helpful. Thank you.

^Wow, they sure do. Odd that it isn’t listed on the Transfer Scholarships page.

I haven’t heard of any transfers talk about getting a regents offer/call/letter so I’m not sure at all. I just find it really odd that it is listed under entering freshman scholarships.

I agree. It’s strange that it isn’t mentioned anywhere on their website (Regents for Transfers). Their selection process also seems very vague from what I can find about Regents compared to the other UC’s. Although I found some old threads on CC about transfers talking about getting Regents from UCSD so I guess it happens.
