On the chance that my roommates end up being “undesirable” (messy, unreasonable, etc.), is there a way i could switch out of my room? I’m in a triple at Warren. Perhaps I can talk to an RA?
Thanks to any responses in advance.

RA’s have nothing to do with reassignments. The housing office would be your best bet. How do you know your roommates will be undesirable?
@“aunt bea” Oh, I’m not saying that they will be, I’m saying just incase. So I would contact the housing office in regards to changing rooms? Would the fact that, for example, my roommate is too messy be a legitimate reason for a change?
Also, how easily/quickly are changes given?
I think you are jumping way ahead of yourself. Wait unit you move in and meet your roommates without thinking the worst of them. Housing on campus at UCSD is difficult to come by and it is probably hard to change roommates.
I agree^.
Being messy won’t give you a change since a number of students are messy and you typically take care of your side of the room.
Housing is very limited, so if you think that by starting off complaining will eventually get you into a single, that’s not going to happen. Where would they put you? If you want to pay off campus rates, you may end up nowhere near the university and that will be on your dime.
Understandable, but it is possible to switch with a person who agrees to change spots with you, no?
That is rare^ because housing in the LaJolla area is a hassle and they are not going to risk changing. Why are you so ANXIOUS to change now?
Oh lol, I’m not anxious. I’ve just heard terrible stories about bothersome roommates, and I would not want to be in that position. Call it paranoia I suppose.
Thanks for all your responses btw.
