UCSD Scholars' Day invitation arrived.

when is this?

march 9... tell me if you are going anna

From what I've heard last year pretty much everyone got their first choice college, so thats probably what we got too, especially if we're top 5% or whatever

If you got Scholar's Day invite, you definitely got your first choice college. Almost everyone gets their first or second choice college anyway, so yeah.

anyone still receiving this invite or are the invites pretty much all out?

I haven't got mine yet. :( I hope they're still coming out!

i hope the letters are still coming out.

I got regents applications from UCLA and Cal. >.<

jonthelin, it says you are located at arcadia. that's pretty near to where i live.

where do you live?

Who here also has gotten the UCLA Engineering Open House invite? I got it, but I didn't get the Scholar's Day invitation.

I got UCLA's also.

i live in san marino/pasadena area.

Weird I was kind of expecting the SD invite since I got UCLA regents invite but maybe the minicollege at San Diego that I chose was more competitive? :(

which one did you choose?
i choose Muir

i chose eleanor roosevelt- nada.

I chose Warren.. they sent me another letter inviting me to scholar's day today.

I thought Warren was pretty popular though?

^ I got a Warren email, too. My first choice.

why did you people choose warren or whatever college you put?
like is each college special for something?

The difference is the GE requirements for each college. I applied for engineering, and supposedly a lot of engineers tend to choose Warren (or Muir) because their requirements are more flexible. For example, taking calculus would fulfill both the engineering req's and Warren's "Formal Skills" req. Also, Warren only has 2 writing courses as opposed to ERC's 3-course Making of the Modern World or whatever.

"Also, Warren only has 2 writing courses as opposed to ERC's 3-course Making of the Modern World or whatever."

Don't be fooled, those 2 writing courses will rip you four new anuses if you aren't great at literature.
