Can anyone posts last year's averages for freshman admitted to UCSD?

average:

1306
4.01
writing: 652?
math: 680?

Wow, thanks for the quick reply. lol.

Well, this is just some verification :/

my UC GPA (weighted)= 3.8
SATs = 2100 (760M, 650CR, 690W), 1410 if you wanna add M/CR
SATII = Math2c = 790, Chem = 710

what do you think?

ur fine unless u apply for an impacted major which would lower ur chances a tiny bit.

Yeah, not exactly sure abt what major...but leaning a lot towards engineering.

If I DO apply as an engineering major? How will it affect my chances? And the six college thing is confusing. A UCSD admissions officer came to my school for a college conference thing and she briefly decribed the colleges...I think i like 6th but not sure.

Also, how hard is it to change my major from undeclared to engineering if i get in?

OmgItsCollege:

UCSD: Slight Reach (Engineering)

Thanks flopsy. Is it THAT much harder to get in as engineering?

flopsy is that really a slight reach? i mean she has a 2100.

which majors are impacted?

my stats
3.96 ucgpa/1930sat1/690 ushist sat2/740satii math2c

my question
if i apply asa bio major/ do i have a good chance
if i apply undeclared do i have a bettter chance
can i switch from undeclared to bio after i get in?

What about 2.93 and 3650/4000 sat? Doh!
400hours + of internship
3 year immigrant
Chinese
Majoing in Business/Marketing

I'm a he. ><

And I'm pretty sure all the engineering majors are impacted at UCSD

is bio impacted?

I got this pamphlet-packet thing from a UCSD admissions officer who came to my school. On the packet, there's a list of majors with an asteriks which says that these amjors require further screening requirements, which I think means are impacted (not 100% sure). These majors with asteriks are:

Biology w/ Specialization in Bioinformatics, Chemistry: Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Interdisciplinary Computing & Arts

If this is wrong, anyone please correct me. I'm just trying to find out more and trying to help. But I don't want to give out wrong info. Thx!

does applying under college of letters and science or whatever you call majoring in science undecided count as impacted?

so if one majors in bio w/ specialization in informatics that is impacted
but bio say some other specializatin isnt????

Well, I don't know. I'm waiting for another "expert" or anyone to help clear this up.

UCSD accepts you before they figure out your major (at least that's what the admissions officer told me).

vupressure06:

i heard that too. but getting into your first choice college + engineering gets harder :/
