Did anyone who TAG'ed to SD get any notification if their TAG was approved or denied?
It feels kinda late in the game to still remain oblivious to this kinda stuff :s

Nope I don’t think anyone has gotten any of that yet. I tag’ed to UCSD and haven’t heard anything

It comes out with the decision in march i think…

They sent a ridiculously ambiguous letter stating it gets decided with the regular application…

What I’m curious is if we are “internally” approved (as in the counsellors at our CC say we meet all requirements). Is that a 100% your in. Or even if you meet the requirements you can still not get through?

As Pavin said they don’t approve/deny the tag until they are evaluating your actual UC application, if they find you don’t qualify for the tag at that time they review you as a normal applicant.

Here is the email they sent me in case you didn’t get one:

Hello ______,

Thank you for choosing UC San Diego when you submitted the UC Online TAG form in September. We encourage you to take the next step and apply to UC San Diego as a TAG applicant.

Submit the University of California application for admission by November 30, 2011. On the application, don’t forget to check the 2 boxes to be a TAG applicant at UC San Diego:

UC San Diego TAG

IGETC

It’s important to check both boxes!

The UC Online TAG form was a way of self-reporting your classes in a preliminary look at eligibility for the program. Some UC campuses pre-qualify TAG applicants by way of this form. Please note that as an applicant to UC San Diego, your TAG status will be reviewed at the time the application for admission is read, and not in advance.

If you do not satisfy all the requirements needed to be TAG-eligible, you still will be considered for admission as a general transfer student. Check our TAG webpage for up-to-date information about the program requirements. Official admission decisions will be posted online by the end of April 2012.

So be sure to submit your application and check the 2 boxes for TAG at UC San Diego if you wish to be considered as a TAG applicant. Remember the deadline is November 30, 2011.
