Ucsd tag gpa

alright so all my fall grades in and my cumulative GPA comes up to be a 2.96. If you round it technically it should be a 3.0 :D hah
Give me the cold hard truth, will my tag be accepted or rejected?

sorry … REJECTED.

rejected. but there is a possibility of getting in through regular admissions!! a slim one, that depends on what your major is…but still there.

same scenerio.my GPA is 2.98.I spoke to a counselor that is very aware of the UC admissions and TAG program and claims that for TAG for UCSD they’re not rounding off. Therefore, a 3.0 GPA or above qualifies you for TAG for UCSD.Anything below, the TAG application is rejected.

ray are you counting on ucsd or would you go to another uc?
i think ill just wait another year for it. i need to slow down on units because i dont want to go over cap.

btw i really hope they open up winter transfer 2012 -__-

^ as far as I know, you can’t go “over” the cap. The cap is there to tell you how many units you can transfer over to UC. Well, if all your units are from CC.

So in other words, if you ONLY attended CC after highschool, you can’t go “over” the limit.

That’s what the admissions officer told me.

I think it said that somewhere in the UCSD tag page as well.

is the cap 70 units or 90?

did u guys tag to davis? they only require a 2.9 for most majors.

@raacheeel:

Yeah, sorry, but you’ll be rejected. :frowning: and you won’t make it as a regular transfer since the GPA limit is more than likely staying at at 3.2 this year.

If all your units are from a CC, there is no limit. I transferred with nearly 130.

it’s cool thanks guys for the input. at least i wont wonder all winter wondering if a 2.96 is good enough. but yeah now i can plan next year ahead.

i’m still trying to contact my professor on my calc grade (mentioned in my other thread). i asked her what grades she used to calculated my grade. i emailed her a week ago and still no reply. i dont think i deserved a C because i had a B average on my tests and then all my quizzes were at least A’s and Bs mostly As. one of her policies was that you need at least a 65 on the final to pass the class. i calculated my possible grade even with a 65 and it’s still a B average. it doesnt make sense.

anyway im not sure if i should hold off on taking physics at cc or just waiting til university, i dont want to screw up my gpa. o chem is already tough enough.

wow, raacheeel you have similar schedule as me in either taking o-chem or physics.I rahter o-chem because the physics professor here at my college isn’t one of the best.

@ twistnswif: yes,I applied to Davis and I got TAG’d!
However,I do not exactly what the TAG means? Am I in? Also, I had to drop one class this Fall because I had some family issues so I’m thinking thinking that my TAG has been revoked. :(

ray what college do you attend!?

@ raacheel: i attend citrus college.what i meant about taking physics or o-chem is cuz i registered for the calculus based physics at citrus but because of time scheduling, ect. I think I am going to rather take o-chem at mt. sac.

To accepted to UCSD Tag, what classes must you take and where can I find that information?

depends on what your major is, look [Welcome to ASSIST](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST) to compare to your cc and your major to ucsd.

Rachel what is your UC GPA?

Even though your GPA is tag-able, it still doesn’t look that good, considering that most majors are heavily impacted.

uc gpa mentioned in the first post hah its a 2.96
i guess my gpa with non transferable courses is above 3.0 idk exactly what that is.

and yeah my major is a bio major it is definitely impacted

i just want to be accepted into the school im not sure how it works if i were to change it to something else and then make the switch after transfer but still in the science area maybe chemistry the only thing is my math dont match up…
