Hey guys I applied to UCSD as a TAG applicant. I have finished all of my IGETC classes last semester and have about 71.5 after this semester ends. I have a cumulative of about 3.56. I got all A's this semester, but I have one incomplete which I will get to complete when the professor comes back in January. The class with an incomplete is just an elective that doesn't count towards the IGETC or major, but it is UC transferable. I called UCSD's admissions office and they said my TAG application will be revoked. I didn't get to explain to him the whole story and I don't know if he was a counselor or not.

I am wondering if my TAG application will get revoked. I have all the requirements for TAG finished and it doesn't say anything an incomplete on the TAG requirements.

Thanks!

I find it hard to believe that they would revoke your TAG just for having an incomplete on your transcripts. I know a student enrolled here now that TAGed and was accepted and he had a D that he never made up in an IGETC class. An incomplete isn’t any worse than a W or a non-passing grade, which doesn’t seem to affect your TAG status so it would seem irrational for an incomplete to. From the sounds of it, the person probably assumed you were talking about a major pre-req or one of the class required for TAG. Maybe you should call again and try and get a hold of an actual admission officer to see what they have to say.

Call UCSD back and ask for a transfer admission rep (you shouldn’t have problem finding one). Explain the situation and find out what you need to do to maintain eligibility for TAG.
