UCSD-The Six Residential Colleges

As someone who is looking forward to attending UCSD, I wanna know more about it! Specifically their college system! I mainly want to know the known pro’s and con’s of each college and maybe some funny/interesting stereotypes or known jokes about each college?! It would be great to get a student’s perspective or even an alumni’s perspective on each college and which college they’re in or were in! I’m just extremely hyped to attend and excited for Triton Day

Revelle:

  • tryhards and nerds
  • GEs way too hard
  • lotta international students
  • smarter than Muir

Muir:

  • hippie environmentalists
  • too much spirit
  • looks like a prison
  • dumber than Revelle

Marshall:

  • social justice warriors
  • diversity or something
  • they don’t have to take DEI

Warren:

  • engineers
  • smells like engineers
  • food tastes like it was cooked by engineers
  • cool bear tho

ERC:

  • hot and spirited people
  • fit bc they walk a mile to get anywhere
  • GEs way way too hard
  • parties

Sixth:

  • there are no people here
  • sixth is completely inhabited by raccoons

Come on, Sixth!

as a first year living in the sixth res halls, i can vouch for the raccoons.

ERC is pretty far from the location of stem classes(on the other side of campus in revelle) but close to the gym. marshall has goody’s(great chipotle style burritos) and just got ovt which is a super nice dining hall with flatbread style pizza and gelato. muir has prison like dorms but is in a pretty central location and the ge’s are supposed to be nice. revelle has a lot of issues with the wifi in the dorms and their writing sequence is a traditional writing class(reading old literature, writing essays, etc). warren is notorious for being “dead” and imo is farther away from everything than sixth. sixth is in the middle of nowhere, filled with wildlife, but the people do get pretty lit(from what I’ve experienced).
