what amtrak station should one get off at to get to UCLA from UCSD? and how can you get from the amtrak station to UCLA and back? thanks!

From UCLA, it's Union Station, for UCSD, get off at...Solerno Beach, I believe. From there, take the bus to UCSD. I don't know how to get to Union station from UCLA, but I can tell you it's downtown, near Chinatown

Solana Beach* Then you just hug the coast down to La Jolla. The 5 cuts UCSD in half (well, most of it's on the East side) so I assume you take that?

Take a plane and parachute in.

there's buses that run between union station and UCLA.
which ones, i'm still trying to figure out

type union station into destination at

www.mta.net

to get to UCSD:
Catch the 21 bus at Ackerman. Take it to Wilshire/Western. Go underground, take the Metro Red Line to Union Station. Find Amtrak and take the Surfliner to Solana Beach stop. Take the 101 bus to campus. 101 bus stops around 9pm (I think)

back to UCLA:
101 bus to the train station. Get off at Union Station. Metro Red Line to Wilshire/Western. 21 bus will take you straight back to Ackerman. It doesn't run on Sundays or after a certain time though. In that case, take the 720 Metro Rapid to Wilshire/Westwood. It will drop you off near Washington Mutual. Walk back to campus.

Good luck!
