UCSD Tranfser Day 2010

Impressions?

Edit: FML TYPO FAIL

LOL, BIG FAIL just like your typing!! jk jk i fell asleep during a session… -________-"

triton eye…

I had a good time and learned a lot about my undergraduate college. I thought there would be more free stuff though lol, but I definitely had a good time. I was there for about 3 hours

i def did not go early enough… i missed out on all the free stuff?!

yea transfer housing was giving free shirts…i got those clips tho lawls. i was there for 9-2 with my alumnus cousin as a tour guide haha. the best part IMHO was transfer housing tour. i am so choosing that room with the beach view. i love the environment also on and off campus. paid a visit to miramar which was great and lots of choices for dining

I went around 10.30 am and did not get any free stuff lol

I went around 9:30 am and did not get free stuff! But overall, i liked it  the best part was indeed the housing tour! The view is amazinggg!!! I hope i get awesome chill roommates!

And i dont understand the triton eye  there were cute people! I dont have a triton eye trust me. Lol :)

I was there a LONG time, from 9-3:30. The college presentation didn’t do much for me (as I don’t want to be in the college they put me in  ), I really liked the transfer dorms but unfortunately the ECE presentation didn’t really wow me. I really liked the campus though and the general feeling of La Jolla, very relaxed and I think I would be very comfortable in that environment.

BTW… Official Transfer Day 2010 Drinking Game: Anytime a UCSD speaker (or flyer/sign) mentions that UCSD is the #1 surfing school, take a drink.

HAHAHA i heard it twice today…

@hellostranger u have prematured triton eye!jkjk strangely i wasnt focused on girls as much as the school lol
there are so many asians at that school

@iluvepho srsly though, there are a lot of asians but there are a lot of other people with different ethnicities. i heard about that before going so I made sure to observe while i was there and yeah, it isn’t so bad as what other people say it is :)

I thought there were some hot guys there, and I have high standards lol… so not as bad as people say!

@UCeric2010 I was at the ECE talk too and stayed for around the same time as you did! I hope it’s really as easy to get research/internship opportunities as they make it to be.

Housing didn’t really wow me that much, but maybe I need to compare it to other places.

Also, if we DID play that game, I would have drank 4 times. Seriously, UCSD? Hahaha :)

@UCeric I agree about the ECE presentation. I understand having a student panel answer questions, but it would have been nice to have the actual advisers on stage taking questions too. Really not a ton of information, just individuals’ experiences.

Definitely would have drank 4 times as well haha.

I would have had to drink 6, 4 times from speakers and I saw it on one of the flyers they gave me AND they had it on a flag on the campus.

@UCeric and UChopeful
Agreed lol. Although, I’m still excited about transferring there! I would have said whats up if I knew you guys were in there haha

I don’t know what you guys are talking about when referring to the ‘triton eye’. I know what it is but today I saw a lot of nice looking girls. Sure, I saw a lot of unattractive people but hey everyone has flaws…

But about admit day, I thought it was fun. Info fair was pretty cool (had some gnarly brain freeze from those damn popsicles for a while), the financial aid officer was super helpful, the Village tours were pretty legit… My only complain would be that I just realized how huge the campus really is…

^No kidding. I had no idea it took 10 minutes to get from Warren to The Village… with a bus.

Are you going to UCSD for sure? Congrats!! :)

Haha… I told you guys The Village wasn’t even near the real dorms. I’ve living off campus at Costa Verde and it’s ~5 minutes away. Yes, UCSD has a huge campus haha. I actually heard they’re adding four more colleges

:( missed out. I really wanted to tour The Village. I went to the Davis Admit Day though…and the free stuff they were giving out there isn’t that great.

Oh my gosh, don’t live at Costa Verde if you can help it!
