Guys chill down, i’m waiting for my admission status too. From a “very very” good reliable source of admission officer, i found out that the “2nd batch” will be out by June 17th. Most likely on June 16th.That means it is this coming Monday and it will be a huge number of admissions. Cross your fingers, and hope to get in. Goodluck everyone.

@bhav007: I think you made the right choice, or at least I don’t think you’d regret you didn’t go to UCSD that much…when you mentioned UCD’s financial package for you, I was gonna say you should go there, since it’s close to you too and you liked the campus, but I didn’t want to say something and affect your decision. Anyway good luck mate.

lol I hope my terrible gpa makes the cut for that

@bolandgoo I live in LA county, close to Long Beach. I haven’t pick yet.

@Ocnative @2016Candles I accepted my housing offer from UCLA. Now that I look back, I really overreacted. I thought I made a mistake because I was still undecided when I submitted my acceptance. Also, I thought that I was going to be on the hook for the $14,000 if I decided not to come to UCLA and I tried to get out of the contract.

@Bhav007 Good, By the way, I found out I can finish the CS degree at UCSD in two years and one quarter if I take summer school. I still have not made up my mind.

I will be so happy if I get in, thanks for the good vibes guys

@bhav007 I’ll be going to UC Davis as well, if I don’t get into UCSD!

@Sykkennedy, oh i see. Is UCSD your top choice? I chose Davis over UCSD; it was a difficult decision lol.

Also, what’s your major and are you from socal or norcal?

For what it is worth, I originally went to UCSB for school and then I ended up living in Davis for almost two years with an ex, and I’m a San Diego native. UCSB has one of the worst campuses. I’m sure you’ve heard about everything going on in Isla Vista. The surroundino area is a dump. Too many parties and not enough renovation. But the faculty is like no other. Super passionate professors and a beyond helpful administration. UCD is a gorgeous campus but get ready for culture shock if you are from San Diego. People are NOT as laid back and the local residents all have the attitude of people from La Jolla, buy they are liberal. Plus it gets super hot in summers and the rainy season is like a typhoon. Just some random tidbits lol.

@bhav007 Yeah UCSD is my top choice, I’m a molecular biology major. I’d be happy with Davis though it’s still great and like you’ve said before that financial package is just wonderful.

I’m from Socal, Santa Barbara precisely. I’d have to disagree with you a bit there @Taylorsams13 its true that IV is a big party place but Santa Barbara which IV is basically in is probably one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Up until last year before Governor Brown cut it we actually had renovation funds going in every year towards making Santa Barbara look nicer, it’s absolutely gorgeous here.

Lol oh no Santa Barbara is gorgeous. I used to go to a horse show at the fairgrounds every year. I chose UCSB based on the city of Santa Barbara. But as pretty much everyone loves in Isla Vista… I didn’t feel that safeatures living in that town. I did NOT mean Santa Barbara. IV is exempt lol

Hi everyone, i am a student on the waiting list too. Every time i log into my application page, it says:“The deadline to reserve a place on our waitlist passed on 11:59 pm May 15. We wish you the best in your educational endeavors.” Does this mean that ucsd has not made the decision of my admission yet? Can someone help me? I am really worried about it.

@coldnagii did you opt-in to the waitlist? They gave out offers to people to JOIN the waitlist, but if you didn’t opt-in, then you are no longer a part of the waitlist pool.

@SJ1408 Yes, i did. I remember that after i submitted the 200-word statement, the page automatically turned back to the previous main page. There was no sign that says i’m already opt-in, and i was thinking that maybe it doesn’t matter

@Coldnagill Well, the page that you should see if you opted in is waitlist comfirmation. I think you should call the office to check that they have your opt-in statement.

@Coldnagii dude I hope u have a plan B because u r NOT on the waitlist.
I know exactly waht ur talking about, - usually happens when u take too long to submit a statement.
I had to submit mine twice. Sorry.

@Cdelta holy ■■■■!! I’m so sad!!! Why this world has to do this to me! ■■ my life

Hi guys, this is my first post. I have been watching this thread for a while. I am also in the waitlist. I submitted my SIR to Davis but still wanna wait for UCSD. More likely I would go SD if I got accepted. I am also an international student and computer science major. It is not a good situation for me at all… I can’t send transcripts to Davis, look for housing, request I-20, and buy flight ticket… everything undecided is driving me crazy. I think my UC gpa is 3.6x because this is what it shows on the Davis credit record. Anyway… just wanna let you guys know there is one more person here being in the same situation like you… and wait together -_-

I hope they give us more time to send in transcripts and ap scores if we’re accepted since they’re taking forever to get back to us. If its still the July 1st deadline that’d be a little unfair.

@CCCharlie, why do you want to go to UCSD more than Davis? Just curious lol. I’m also a CS major, but I chose Davis over UCSD (Yah, I know CS is ranked high at UCSD).
