Sorry if this has been asked or if I’m completely out of the loop, but are they going to want to see our spring transcripts if we’re waitlisted? Or are our spring grades irrelevant towards their decision?

@eastbaytransfer, I remember asking a UCSD admission’s person about that on the phone, and the guy said that Spring grades aren’t considered for waitlisted people.

@eastbaytransfer reading through last year’s transfer waitlist thread it looks like they didn’t send them until after a decision

Ahh ok. Nothing to do but wait now haha man I hope we get in!

@bhav007 What happens if someone fails a class? Do the same rules still apply?

@CollegeDropout1, I’m not sure about that

So does anyone know whether they look at your grades up to the time you applied, or figure in fall grades as well?

@gswarriors1975, all UC’s figure in the Fall grades. That’s what the January update was for as well.

thanks @bhav007, I was just wondering because my gpa was a little higher before the TAU update :/

Hello Everyone, I just want to let you know my appeal was approved! I am going to be a Triton!! I am so relieved as this was the only school I applied to. =)

@SoCalVetGal are you a transfer student or a freshmen applicant? Because if you’re a transfer applicant it makes no sense how they would be accepting appeal offers yet haven’t taken anyone off of their waitlist…like are they expecting us to appeal??..I’m going to call them next week for sure because if this is the case…it’s ■■■■■■■■ lol.

Nonetheless, congrats on your acceptance dude.

@kyle2015 I am a transfer applicant; it makes sense to me. Appeals are different than wait-list. I am glad I did it, or I would still be sitting on the edge of my seat because this is the only school I applied to…

@SoCalVetGal can I write an appeal although I’m on the waitlist? I’m still waiting on appeals from uc Berkeley and ucla also still waiting for usc decision.

On 2nd thought an appeal may be too late to do now…oh well…a lot of ppl got accepted off of waitlist last year so I’m pretty sure we’ll see the same this year.

@kyle2015 Supposedly those that submitted their appeal by May 15th before the June 1st SIR deadline. Appeals are completely different than the wait list. You can appeal while on the wait list and if your appeal is rejected, you just go back on the wait list. Only a handful of appeals are granted admission each year.

@kyle2015 I would file an appeal. It can not hurt you. It helped me and I was on the wait-list like you

I found out this morning that my appeal was accepted! I have been admitted to UCSD! And they offered me the same amount of aid as UCI, which was an amazingly awesome surprise! I am so relieved!

So if we get accepted to UCSD from the waitlist, how does housing work? Do we just stay on the on-campus housing?

@knhofto @SoCalVetGal @bolandgoo
What are your GPA and major? I want to see if my waitlist application is viable in the pool. Thanks!

@AlmostPeace, my GPA is 3.47 and I’m a computer science major done with all the prereqs except the ones that didn’t articulate, even tho you didn’t ask me :p

@bhav
on the waitlist FAQ, it says housing will not be guaranteed for waitlist people. Meaning if we don’t get off the waitlist before June 1st, we’re kinda fked and have to pray that there is a space open for on campus housing - you know, like how we prayed to get in, how we are praying to get off the waitlist in the first place…
