UCSD Transfer Admit Day

Anyone else here?

I took one of the early bird tours with Kirsten. Maybe Triton Eye afflicts even visitors, but she was pretty cute IMHO. Here's an excerpt for anyone who can't take the tour. Hopefully it's audible.

I was there! Didn’t do the campus tour though…did you take a look at The Village? I thought East was so nice!

I didn’t go but my friend did. He said that there will most likely be no singles in the village for us? :(

That’s what the standard line was, but I think they’re just being safe. Last year East wasn’t open, but some students were still placed in double rooms by themselves. Now that East is open, which has far more singles than doubles, there is a much better chance of getting a single. I suspect many first year transfers will have a shot at getting a private room (even if it has two beds).

I hope that happens…

my tour guide told us the Village East is primary for 2nd year transfer students, and we’re likely to get Village West. She also said it’s highly unlikely we’ll get a single.

I’m still crossing my fingers though

Other than housing stuff was there anything interesting/ exciting that happened at TAD?

The campus was more dead than I thought…reconsidering UCLA.

But my God, The Village was so nice.

Apparently midterms are coming up at SD. Geisel had quite a few studying students… That may have contributed to the “dead” feel.

The Triton Eye theory is dead, at least for me. I saw three different young women who literally made me gasp (in a good way), and by and large the beauty distribution seemed to mirror the real world.

^ Oh okay, I was hoping there was a reason as to why it was like that.

I hope I get to live at the village east  not fair that it will be mostly for seconds years

The campus tour sucked and the campus itself was okay but the village is AMAZING. I was debating between ucsd and ucla for sometime and I was beginning to lean more towards la but the village really brought me back to the fence. Especially village east, whoever did the decor did a wonderful job.

I was there today as well!

I thought I wanted to go to UCSB… but after today, not so sure :stuck_out_tongue:
The campus was pretty dead around 4pm though, but I don’t really mind.

& I think I took the last tour with Kirsten! She was hilarious, and very charismatic. From what I saw today, the triton eye thing was so not evident.

How many people are there who actually want doubles?
