UCSD Transfer Housing

For those planning to be at UCSD for Fall 2011, what are your housing plans?

I would love to be in The Village at Torrey Pines but it's sooo ridiculously expensive, I don't think it's worth it. I just think it would be so much easier to be on campus during my first year at UCSD and I heard people actually party at the Village. Also, it would be easier to meet people going in. What other options do i have as a transfer student at UCSD? All help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks homies!

I’ll be at The Village. Your only other option is to go off-campus, which is far cheaper.

I tried looking for nearby 1 bedroom places to rent and they all seemed to be around $1k a month, so I figure the Village is a decent deal if that’s what you’re looking for.

Oh if you’re looking for your own one bedroom apartment to rent off campus, yeah you’ll be over $1k for sure. If you’re looking to rent a room off campus in a 2/3 bedroom apartment/condo, you can easily find something for ~$600 a month.

if i lived at the village and shared a room with 2 people, would i still be paying the same amount?

You pay per person at The Village. You either get put in a double room (two people) for around $10k a year (9 months) or you pay another $800 more and get a room to yourself inside an apartment. Each apartment has 3-4 rooms.

holy dicks god thats so much money ahhh f**$*$ lol

It’s not cheap, but it’s on campus, includes a meal plan and utilities, so not too bad when you break it down.

I just lost 20 IQ

lol

Just about $19,000.
