UCSD transfer to UCLA

im looking to transfer to UCLA from UCSD because of the lack of business programs at UCSD.
What kind of GPA should i have by the time i apply for UCLA? Anything i can do at UCSD that can help my chances?

Here is the best advice I can give you…drop out and go to a CC

i already started my spring quarter at UCSD so CC right now is out of question

ucla does not have a business admin program. transfer to cal, irvine, or sc.

my goal was to transfer to the Bus/Econ Major, and go to Anderson School after.

UCLA has always been a dream school for me

you’re most likely going to need a GPA above the average because you are transferring from another UC, I would say close to a 3.85-3.9 to be competitive.

no. this is wrong. ucla looks at cc and uc the same. so just have above the average accepted gpa and you have a decent shot.

[UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2008](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof08_mjr.htm)

no this is right, the average was 3.82 last year, so i’ll state again that a 3.85-3.9 would be a competitive GPA…

You need Accounting classes as prereqs for UCLA. Do they offer Accounting courses at UCSD ?(since they don’t have business, I’m not sure if they have accounting classes, just asking)

Btw, you can always drop out after the spring quarter and go to CCC afterward. My friend did it after his 1st quarter at UCSC

definately come to UCLA… recommeded!

oh, i wasn’t debating the gpa part. i didn’t even look up the average. i agree with you on that.

just wondering… isn’t management science the same as business? UCSD does offer management science… (i’m an engineering major at UCSD. so, i can be way wrong…)

yeah, management sciences is closer to business administration than ECON at ucsd… i didn’t know that until recently and applied as an econ major. booooooo

Management Science and Econ. have generally the same courses. UCSD does offer Econ 4 which is an accounting course which would fulfill the requirement to transfer to UCLA.

For the GPA, the average admit to UCLA from UCSD is a 3.5 according to their transfer site. They have UC to UC as a different category than CC to UC.

I’m confused by the words “lack of business programs at UCSD.” In what sense is UCSD lacking in business program? …

loller i’m sure you can switch into it without any problems. you can switch majors online and i would bet transfers can do it too (except for impacted majors of course).

ive changed my major 4 times online already. (from math to stats to management science to joint math/econ)
