<p>Got in like two weeks ago and I heard its a good school so I’m considering enrolling.</p>

<p>I just wanted to know more about UCSD in general and in regards to transfers. </p>

<p>Here are some of the few things I’ve heard about UCSD. Please tell me how much you think these statements are true. Feel free to add your own two cents about UCSD. I want to hear more about it. </p>

<li><p>Social Life is dead. Of course, it really falls on the shoulders of the person transfering to go take initiative to meet people and whatnot, but I just want to make sure I’m not going into the Socal version of UChicago or anything.</p></li>
<li><p>UCSD good in English? I really have no idea, I just know they’re really strong in the sciences.</p></li>
<li><p>No on-campus transfer housing?</p></li>

<p>when i read the booklet, it said no <em>guaranteed</em> housing. You can still apply and try to get one, i'm sure they finished remodeling and have expanded some on-campus dorms.</p>

<p>UCSD has HUGE demand on their dorms from frosh, so it will be tough I think.</p>

<p>I go to ucsd...im trying to answer ur questions as well as i can...hope it helps....</p>

<p>therez no transfer housing as such but u can put urself on a housing waitlist and hope for someone to drop out...</p>

<p>social life thing is kinda true coz there aint many parties on campus bcoz of rso's...they r extremely strict and vigilant and break any parties on campus even if there is no alcohol involved and write up people for small pranks...</p>

<p>lol...i just got written up right now(15 mins back) for throwing a small dance party during the spring break when there is no one around...he wrote me up for noise violation and seized my boombox... there isnt anyone except like 10 students in the entire campus and 8 of them were here....</p>

<p>talking abt english department, the literature department is really good and has some fabulous professors and some great research opportunity...but yeah science at ucsd is prolly one of the best in the country....</p>

<p>wow! i had no idea they were that strict. insane. </p>

<p>how are their econ/math departments? do you know where i can find info comparing those depts of various uc's. that would help me out a bunch.</p>

<p>I had no idea UCSD was that strict on the alki. What a bummer. Oh wells, I probably wouldn't be living in the dorms anyway huh.</p>

<p>the college confidential kids who end up ucsd-ing should team up to brighten up the off campus party scene by joining forces. me included if that's where life takes me!</p>

<p>Im in a fraternity at SDSU, and this is where the parties are at. I might be transfering out to go to UCSD for their Bioengineering pogram, but i will keep my connections alive at sdsu to have a good time.</p>
