Trying to get in through Environmental Engineering. I am passionate about this subject/ matter.
I've looked into Cal Poly Slo but their acceptance rate is really low and I feel like it would be competitive compared to UC's. If you know any other Environmental Engineering programs besides UC's and not as rigorious to get into please tell me.

Do personal statements make a major difference?

Thanks.

Based on the information you gave I would say your chances from most likely to least likely would be UCSC, UCI, UCSB, UCD, UCSD. This is based completely on your academics and extra curricular, I have no idea how competitive engineering is at these schools.

THEREFORE, take my input with a grain of salt.
However it’d help other people analyze you better with a bit more information like:
Did you take any APs? Scores on those?
Parents income? Are you a 1st generation student going to college?
California resident? And maybe a bit more that I’m forgetting.

Good luck to you!

I think you have a good shot at UCSC, they have great engineering because they are so close to the silicon valley

I have taken Ap tests but got 2’s.
I am the first generation in my family to attend college.
medium income
california resident.

what is the average sat scores and gpa for UC D and UC I?

I think your biggest hurdle is going to getting accepted into an engineering program with a SAT I math score of 560. There is evidence that a minimum SAT I math score of 600 is needed to succeed as a Math, Physics, Astronomy and Engineering.

Okay so I took the sat today. After a year of preparation I took it again and I feel confident about my score. My high would be 1900-2100 and low will be 1800-1890. What are my chances to UCD and UCSD with a 1900+ ? And I studied math a lot during my SAT classes and I think I’ll receive a bit more than 700. So that would help a lot… Thanks
