Other Info:
I come from a rough background. Essay talks about a home invasion where I watched my mother and 13 year old sister get held at gunpoint when I was around 7. Dad was an addict and I have not seen him since I was a baby. Domestic violence was prominent in my household. Mother is an immigrant from Mexico who speaks little english. Low income, Hispanic, First Generation.

UCLA: High match (best to cross that school off the list since you’re not able to pay full-freight)
USC: High match
UCSD: Match (see UCLA)
USD: Low match

I’ve heard the same things as the other posters regarding pricing. I’d be cautious about applying to only these schools, are there others that you’re applying to that you haven’t posted? I think you have a good shot at making it into all of these schools, and chances are you’ll get some good scholarships, but I’d have some backups if I were you. With that being said…

UCLA: High match
USC: Match, as long as you get the test score you’re hoping for
UCSD: Match
UCD: Low Match
