I come from a rough background. Essay talks about a home invasion where I watched my mom and 13 year old sister get held at gunpoint when I was around 7. Dad was an addict and I have not seen him since I was a baby. Domestic violence was prominent in my household. Mother is an immigrant from Mexico who speaks little english. Low income, Hispanic, First Generation.</p>
