Ok, so it looks like It's down to these two for me. I applied to both (along with LA, and B) for the Fall Term 2006.

I have a (TAG) contract with UCSD, but I still have a ton of classes that I need to finish this spring ('06) to finish my contract. Six to be exact.

My GPA is 3.29, and I don't really have any EC's to speak of.
I'm a Political Science major.

The more I think about things, the more I am starting to lean towards UCSB. In fact, If I get accepted to UCSB, that is where I want to go.

The problem right now is that I only have about half of the major-prep requirements done for UCSB. I also will not satisfy their TAA.

My question is this: Will I get into UCSB as a Political Science (College of Letters and Science), 3.29 gpa, no real ec's, strong personal statement, applicant?

Yeah im in a similar situation... I want to go to ucsb with a 3.17 bus econ, but I dont qualify for the TAA because I am currently taking statistics and it needs to be done in the prior fall... I am also missing 2 pre major classes (calculus) soo... yeah... You have a better shot then me at least!

Remember, you don't need to have major prep classes AT ALL for the TAA for most majors. I only had one out of the four done when I applied (I didn't have the econ series either), and a 3.21 GPA. That still completely satisfies the TAA as long as you have the seven general classes completed and 60 semester units.

Be sure to be ok with staying another year at a CC to finish up prereqs. It won't hurt as much if you get denied. And you'll at least have a plan B and should get in for sure Fall 2007.
