I applied to UCSD with my first choice major being Computer Science and my second choice major being Computer Engineering. Unfortunately, I did not get into either but got in as Undeclared. I know getting into CS is pretty much impossible because of the lottery system, and that getting into any other capped major is also extremely hard because it is GPA based. I’m still waiting on a couple other schools, and most likely I will pick from whatever schools let me in for CS. However, I’m still curious about whether or not attending UCSD is worth the risk. Does anyone know or have any personal experience with getting into the Computer Engineering major at UCSD? Also, what is the value of a Math - CS for someone looking to go into software engineering career?
