I'm just an average student who would work hard in classes. How would you rank these colleges in order of biochemistry major and best preparation for pharmacy school??

Rankings will only say one very small thing about these schools, i think most people would probably agree that the order goes: UCLA>UCSD>UCD~UCSB. You shouldn't worry too much about these rankings though. Any UC will give you a good education (all of them are nationally recognized powerhouses of research in the biological sciences), make sure you check out campuses and see where you like it best and fit in most. Each of these schools are arguably as different from one another as schools could possibly be.

For biochemistry:
UCSD
UCLA
UCD/UCSB

But go for fit. All the campus environments are very different.

UCSD is top on your list for biochemistry.

but what if i end up with a really low gpa at ucsd? will it significantly affect my pharm school admission?

Post #3 above is correct in my experience.

Sure, but I don't think UCSD or UCLA are any harder in biochemistry than UCD and UCSB. UCSD has the reputation due to its research in the field. The academic competition may be slighty higher, but you're going to have to work just as hard no matter what UC you choose.

If you can, visit the campuses. They are all in much different settings and you'll do better where you are happier.

thanks for your opinions.
