~bumpppppppp! :)

I would say you’re definitely in! Great stats, and if you calculated your points right, you are definitely in.

^^
thanks so much, ak12543!!
BC REA applicants, good luck!! Decisions come out soon!! Let’s hang in there together!!

bump please!~ :)

I don’t think your chances have changed.

^^
i’m just getting really worried as mid-March deadline is nearing…

just read an article in la times:

“UC San Diego passed UC Berkeley as the second most popular campus with 70,474 applications.”

:( Anyone else scared?

@luckycharms: This news worries me, as well. With budget cuts + UCSD (seemingly) more popular than Cal + class of 2014 overenrolling… It’s certainly going to get tougher this year.

There is no way to predict how this will affect the point cutoff. It all depends how UC San Diego reacts to surpassing Cal in applicants. Hopefully the boost in applicants is from underqualified seniors…

Either way, they point cutoff shouldn’t raise too terribly much, right? The cutoff already raised nearly 200 points from 2008-2009… They won’t raise it another 200, will they? I’m just hoping it stays below 8000 (under 1950 would be ideal), because then I still have a decent chance. Basically, I know I have 7500 points at least, and after that I can earn 150 more for volunteering (idk how they calculate hours, I think I have enough but I’m not positive), 150 for leadership (not sure if Ent. Editor for newspaper + pres. of a club is enough), 150 for low income (less that $50k in 2 person household? probably not), or 250 for single parent household (read this somewhere. not sure if it’s reliable). So my point total could be anywhere from 7500 to 8200… agh!

I am extremely nervous for March, but I’ve been trying not to stress too much (although I’m failing at that…) UCSD is my first choice school, and I truly hope to see you there next year, lucky (or at least be in your presence since it’s so large haha.) The wait is pretty torturous but I highly doubt the point total will raise enough to kill our chances. Best of luck to you, Lucky, and everyone else who applied :D

^^
thanks jesuis! we’re in the same boat because according to my calculations, i also have around 7500-8200 points. being on the borderline is so scary!! and yes, UCSD is also my first choice! i hope we both get in, and i also hope everyone else on this forum who’s crossing their fingers for UCSD gets in too! we’ll see in a couple of months!! :)

You’re in the running for both UCSD and Boston College. Good luck.

^^
thanks!! fingers are crossed for this weekend…
