<p>Hey! New member here but have lurked for a bit & have found these forums very helpful and informative. For fall 2010, I have been admitted to UCSD and UC Davis and can't make up my mind about where to go and would love some outside input. </p>
<p>At UCSD I would be a math major with a concentration in probabily & statistics and at Davis I would be a stats major. I recently switched majors this past fall, so am a bit behind (that's putting it lightly) on prereqs. For Davis, I would have two of the prereqs done but at SD, I would only have one. </p>
<p>SD also offered a better financial aid package, but since I live in the bay area, the cost of transportation back and forth basically makes the two schools even since it wasn't that much more that I'd be saving. I'm pretty 50/50 on both at this point and can't make up my mind, help!?</p>
<p>& Sorry for the long post, have put lots of time into thinking over this decision and am still stuck, lol. any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated :)</p>
<p>I’ve never been to UCSD but just visited the Davis campus last week and it’s amazing! Ultimately it’s up to you what you decide, I would suggest visiting the campuses if you can. Either way, they’re both really good schools and you won’t make a bad decision with either. And congratz!</p>
<p>Thanks! Actually visited SD this weekend and thought it was pretty nice. I’ve also been to Davis before too, but that was years ago (while in high school) and wasn’t very impressed by the campus… but I’m planning on going up there again next week, hoping maybe I’ll feel differently this time? :-P</p>
<p>I was also deciding between UCD and UCSD also, but I got into UCLA. UCD was appealing because its in a college town and because of that there is a lot more going on than at UCSD. UCSD, on the other hand, was appealing because of the weather and the nearby beaches. UCSD is also slightly more prestigious; Mexico is nearby; however, rumors says that UCSD is a bit boring. If I didn’t get into UCLA, I’d probably be going to UCD because I still have a lot of party to unleash before graduating. If your more of the quiet type I’d say goto UCSD, but if your more of the social type goto Davis!</p>
