Wanted to get thoughts on small Liberal Arts and high cost but out in 4 yrs vs Large Public University lower cost but takes longer to finish degree. Also wanted to know what the thoughts are as to the feel of both campuses. Also location, weather, people, academic advising

First of all: if you live in California, UCSD will be much cheaper than L&C. I briefly looked into each in order to respond to this post and found that Lewis and Clark is around 35,000 dollars for tuition; as an in-state resident at UCSD, you’d be looking around 10 grand for tuition and say another ten for housing.

Moreover, UCSD is ranked higher than Lewis & Clark overall. Not sure what your major is or what you are interested in, but last time I checked UCSD was ranked in the top 40 nationally. Lewis and Clark is ranked at 79 according to [Lewis & Clark College - Best Colleges - Education - US News and World Report](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/portland-or/lewis-and-clark-3197)

As far as weather goes, San Diego is sunny, warm, etc. Portland is nice, though cloudier and absolutely more wet than San Diego.

It would be helpful to know where you are from, what type of weather you like, etc. etc.
