UCSD vs. Northeastern University

I'm trying to decide which college to attend next year, and I've narrowed my choices down to UC San Diego and Northeastern University in Boston. Because of some scholarships they're roughly the same price, so price isn't a factor. I'm probably going to major in something biology-related and am hoping to get into medical school later on.

UCSD is close to home and has great weather. Many people from my high school will be attending there, so I'd already know some of my classmates. I'd probably be comfortable here since the demographics (lots of Asians) are similar to my hometown. It has a great biology program and a rigorous workload, so I'm a bit afraid that my GPA will slip a bit if I go here. UCSD is a well-known school and has a great reputation, so I think people would be more impressed to hear that I went here instead of Northeastern.

Northeastern University is a lesser-known college and thus has less prestige than UCSD. However, it has an early assurance medical school program that I can apply to in sophomore year, and if I get in, I would be guaranteed a spot in a nearby medical school. I wouldn't have to take the MCAT or do interviews or apply to other medical schools. It also has an amazing co-op program where I can work at a job in a field of my choice for 6 months, giving me experience and something good for my resume. However, this school has a far lower percentage of Asian people so I would probably feel a little less comfortable and get somewhat of a culture shock xD And I would be very far away from my family and friends.

Anyway, I'm pretty torn between these two colleges, so I would really appreciate some advice and input. Thanks!

Darn, I saw this post just now…
May I ask which school you ended up enrolling to? :)
