Ucsd vs nyu vs pepperdine

Help! I got into the aforementioned colleges as well as occidental, westmont, UCSB, UCI and UCD. NYU, UCSD and Pepperdine are my top choices but I can't decide which one to go to. For NYU I got into the liberal studies program and for UCSD I got into Revelle college with an undeclared major.

Oddly enough, and depending on the major, I would take Occidental among these schools…

Really why!!

Does money matter? If so, run your numbers here, and see what you think: [FinAid | Calculators | Award Letter Comparison Tool](<a href=“Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid”>Award Letter Requirements - Finaid)

Nope! Money doesn’t matter :)

Whoa, those schools couldn’t be more different from each other. Depends on what you’re looking for in a college experience.

1.) Do you want small classes/individual attention/getting all chummy with professors? Or do you want large lectures/freedom (i.e. ability to skip classes and other **** without getting noticed)/independent learning?

2.) Same goes for the student body. Do you want a small sense of community where everyone knows each other or do you want a big population to get lost in?

3.) Finally, LOCATION! NYU is right in the heart of–you guessed it–New York City. Totally different environment than the pretty seclusion of Pepperdine or the beachy downtown locale of UCSD, not to mention the different locations of the other schools on your list.

Of the UC’s, I like Davis the best since it is more of a college town than the other two. If money is no object AND you like urban campuses (I do not) go to NYU, since its degree is more prestigious than the other privates.

I don’t like Davis because I heard that it’s kind of a cow town? Haha. I like California alot. But I wanna make an informed choice so I don’t make any mistakes. The NYU liberal studies program isn’t very prestigious so I’m wondering if it is worth it. As for class sizes and all that, I’m indifferent. I’m looking to pursue political science! Or international relations.

^Depends on what you mean by cow town. Did you even visit Davis?

I would go for UCSD, Occidental, or NYU. Davis is a cow town, there are lots of cows on campus. It is nice if you like that kind of environment. UCSD is in La Jolla, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

^Well yeah there are cows on campus but it’s not like they’re all over the place and you ride them between classes. “Cow town” has a lot of negative connotations and I feel doesn’t accurately describe Davis. It’s like calling Las Vegas a desert town for being in the desert. There’s obviously a lot more to it than that. People have very warped views about Davis.
