UCSD vs UC Berkeley for Neuroscience

I’m currently a neurobiology major at UCSD. I applied to UC Berkeley and UCLA, and I got into UC Berkeley (which was very unexpected). I initially applied to transfer just for the sake of having another option to consider (I understand this is very dumb), but now I’m conflicted as to whether I should go to Berkeley or stay here.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

Why did you apply to transfer ?

Only you can decide if you should.

Are you that unhappy that you want to move and start again ?

Considered academically, UCSD probably offers a stronger program in neuroscience than UCB.

Are you going to grad school?

yes, hopefully

I thought that UCB is more rigorous in general? (I’m really sure, but that’s what I’ve heard)

The reason to leave UCSD is you are patently unhappy.

No other reason.

UCB may be more rigorous overall than UCSD partly because its student profile generally has been stronger. Nonetheless, when considered by program strength, UCSD may be the UC most associated with the biological sciences and neuroscience.
