UCSD vs. UCB in CE

somebody give me the highlights, i just got into ucsd and ucb and i dont know which one to pick!!

which has better computer science engineering programs?

Chemical engineering or Computer engineering? well, berkeley is far superior in engineering. UCSD would only beat berkeley on the Biology, premed, biomedical engineering. Otherwise, Berkeley is far better.

thats great news, but how is it so, the thing is my parents are trying to throw me in ucsd because they think ucsd and ucb are both the same and that its just about how smart a student is, i dont think so, i think it's about opportunities also :(

i got accepted to both collges one in computer science b.s. (ucsd) and eecs (ucb)

i really wanna go to berkeley... thanks for the reply !

well ucsd is definitely good as well, I live in SD and I really want to go to SD, but I got rejected. I say SD is cool campus and good living environment, unlike berkeley looks so ghetto...berkeley is just better academic wise overall

Yeah, I got into both too. I'm not sure what I want to pusue academically, but science/engineering is the top candidate. UCSD is offering me a full ride and I'd have to pay in-state tuition at Berkeley. Is the better education at Berkeley worth the extra money?

there is very little, if any differenec in quality of education. What you are going to be paying for is the extra prestige berkeley has. And even that varies. On the east coast, ppl consider berkeley to be better than SD. Here in CA, we consider them pretty much equal.

come ot think of it, the cost of attendance for ucsd and ucb are almost the same its just ucb is 2k higher

berkeley is known for its engineering..

I would choose UCB EECS over a full ride at UCSD CS in a heartbeat.

Why?5678910

Because I'm interested in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as opposed to just Computer Science, I prefer the UCB Computer Science building to the UCSD Computer Science building, and because money isn't an issue for my family.

besides the tuition fees are relatively almost the same!
