I'm having a really hard time picking between UCSD and UCD and it's all coming down to how good the computer science program is at each school. Which one has more internships opportunities? Which will give me better job opportunities after graduating? Which is more reputable and will increase my chances in getting a job?

I also know that UCSD's computer science major is impacted and, right now, I'm undeclared. If I end up going to UCSD, how difficult would it be to get into that major? What's the the application process like? How do they review you? How long would I have to be there as undeclared before I actually get that major?

A year, after that you apply again for computer science but they only take the students who do good their first year. Until then you have to pick an open major.

Do you know how many students they take each year? Do they only take the top students in the class or does getting A’s in all of the the major required classes during freshman year pretty much guarantee you a spot?

Top students get in, I don’t know how many they take.

i have this problem too but the math-CS major at UCSD is not impacted and it doesn’t matter to employers if you choose math-cs or pure cs!

So I called the CSE department and the person there said there will be spots open for non-CS to take, the GPA from these courses will determine who gets in. There is no set GPA now. The students have to compete for these slots.
